This one looks like it might be a bit funny; with Sam and Dean running into alternate versions of themselves from one of Chuck's other worlds. We also get to see Sister Jo/Anael, and RUBY! Which I'm hoping is a flashback. I hope it's funny meta this week. I also hope they keep moving the season's arc along.

Wow; it's been awhile since the last episode and we're swinging into the final stretch now. We get Jody. We get Billie. I'm nervous about how it's all going to go down in the finale, but I'll take that ride! Here we go!

Knowing they are not themselves after the last episode, presumably because they pissed off Chuck, Sam and Dean, last we saw them, were headed to Alaska to a place Garth told them "could possibly turn their luck around". This week, they're playing some very high-stakes pool. Not sure how it will tie in with last week...or when they will figure out the final plan for controlling Chuck. It seems like right now they are trying to get their normal lives back. Well, "normal" for them, anyway.
Guys, we're halfway through the final season! Yikes!

Wow; after this we are halfway through the final season. In case that's depressing, it looks like this week's episode will provide some comic relief. And we get to see Garth again! Sam and Dean hit the road to help Garth in some way, and the previews show that Garth now has a family. It also appears that Sam and Dean lose their "cool guy" mojo and things start going wrong. Maybe because they've fallen out of favor with Chuck? We'll see!

Back from holiday break!
Wow; we're quickly rushing towards being halfway through the season. I have to watch the last one to reacquaint myself with all that's going on, but I remember Cas and Dean were headed to Purgatory. The promo photos from this one look intense.

Okay! I'm about to spoil it for anyone who hasn't looked at previews, but ADAM IS BACK! I have wanted them to resolve the Adam storyline FOREVER! Now, I wish they had resolved it by having to go back to the cage and GET him, but, at least he'll be in this one. And he'll get to be Adam and Michael. Have we ever really seen Adam as himself and not possessed by Michael or dead and reanimated by a ghoul???
Now that Sam might have insight into Chuck's thinking, I am especially curious about that quick flash in the last episode where Sam saw through Chuck's eye and saw the computer screen where Chuck was writing the Winchester's ending. Can Sam with his incredible memory look back in his mind and see what was written? I can't believe we're at the mid-season finale and after this week, we only have a dozen new episodes. I'll be watching every single one!

There's a much-anticipated new guest star in this one as Dean goes off on his own to follow a case alone. Meanwhile, back at the bunker, Cas returns and tries to help figure out a way that Sam can track down God. From the promo photos, it looks like Eileen is there to help too having just been brought back to life by Sam using one of Rowena's "one use only" spells in the last episode.
As we get towards the middle of the last season (yikes!), it seems like it's time to start ramping up the final story. As they laid it out in the last episode, they have to defeat God. God is still messing with their lives. Dean thinks there's no way to defeat God but Sam tried to convince him that they could do it and what other choice do they have?

We get to see what Cas is up to...and now, with the reveal that Chuck IS still trying to interfere in Sam and Dean's lives (and now they know it), I wonder how this will play out. Will we continue to see all the wonderfully horrible "alternate endings" in Sam's dreams all season? Will they try to use that somehow as inside intel against God?
Also, there will be witches.

Since Chuck announced last season that he has been manipulating the story since the Pilot, I've heard several fans say that now when they rewatch past episodes, their mind is "tainted" because every time they see something bothersome, sad, violent, or whatever, they're reminded that it was just Chuck being puppet master all along. So the show has lost some of its meaning for them. All those discussions about free will and all those struggles and sacrifices these characters endured to exercise it are just what? Fake?
I sympathize with Dean (LOL -- I guess I always do) when he says he feels like it all just doesn't matter now because it was never "real" in the first place. Of course, I know the show isn't real. But all of its emotions, life lessons, and other valuable attributes definitely ARE real. I don't want to feel cheated or robbed of those things. I'm slowly rewatching (currently on season 4) and I admit that I have to FORCE myself to forget the events of 14x20 in order to enjoy all the previous episodes this time through. I don't want to fall down that rabbit hole, because then all the emotions (good and bad) that these episodes evoke in me will be false; or even worse, I will stop feeling anything at all. I hope this current season and whatever happens with Chuck doesn't ruin the series for any of us - including me. Do any of you feel the same? kate |

This episode may be the one that has been discussed a bit by the cast and production folks where Sam and Dean lose their mojo...they're no longer cool. Things aren't easy for them. They're not perfect shots. They get injured. They're not smooth when dealing with witnesses, etc. Directed by Richard Speight Jr., this feels like something custom-made for him to direct. I'm very curious to see this one! I have no idea about the plot other than those rumors. Also, in the (very few) promo photos provided, Sam goes flying off the balcony of the bunker!

The first episode shot when they went back to work this season; directed by Jensen! I read he hasn't directed since 2011; wow; has it been that long? I guess having twins changes things! But he directed thi one and I can't wait to see it. He has such a love for the craft of acting and directing. I love to listen to him talk about it at conventions because he just lights up every time. I can't wait to see what he decided to do. Also, one of his (yes, HIS) new songs will play during the episode. His album with Steve Carlson comes out in a matter of days. The song that will be used is the first single already out and I like it A LOT.
Also, after the messy first 3 episodes of this season (which I disliked except for episode 3 which was MUCH better than the first two), I am looking forward to a Monster of the Week episode. I remember back when Jensen was directing this one and Clif tweeted a photo of him taken through a cracked (hotel? office?) door of Jensen sitting there with his head in his hands in front of a laptop and Clif said something about that was how Jensen looked pretty much all the way through. He cares so much about the product they put out, I have no doubt he was sweating all the small stuff and I bet it will show.

This week we have the third part of the season 15 premiere; three episode that are basically one long one. I am very ready to be DONE with the ghosts escaped from hell. I have found this part of the story disappointing and a waste of the first three episodes. However, they have been dropping a few interesting hints that give me hope for the rest of the season; like God's diminished capacity and God's connection to Sam (and perhaps vice-versa?) through the same wound they endured at the hands of God's "Equalizer" weapon. We've learned that God has not kept his promises (Kevin was actually sent to hell for some reason...I'm still wondering why God would send a Prophet to hell...instead of heaven where God SAID he sent him). Belphagor's motives are still largely unknown and Jack is still somewhere with Billy in the Empty. Cas still has the promise from the being in the Empty hanging over his head from last season; the moment Cas becomes truly happy, he's a dead man. So all of those things have me interested in what's coming up. However, I'll be glad to hopefully get past this story and this setting (the quarantined town) after this week.

Okay! We're off and running on SEASON15!
I will try to be more positive in my comments. I don't want to pick apart the next 19 episodes just because I'm not in love with the story arc. It looks like we get Kevin in this one, so maybe it will explain why we're seeing Kevin. Kevin WAS sent to heaven. So is he a ghost? Were souls freed from heaven as well as hell by God? We shall see! We also get Rowena. I love you, show. I will attempt to watch with an open mind and not the mind of someone who loved the early years the most.

I can't believe I'm starting the discussion thread for the last Supernatural season premiere. Okay, I am sick to death of being reminded all over the place of all the "lasts" here. Last hiatus. Last start of filming a season...mostly because I never want it to end. But I respect our heroes (onscreen and in life) for having the integrity to decide when the time was right for them to bring this amazing, life-changing, groundbreaking series to an close.
Deep breath. Here we go! I had my issues with the season 14 finale and what the writers decided to do. I only hope for a very good story in this final season. Not a retread or parade of fan favorite actors (both good and bad characters on the show) and the door seems to be open for that. I hope they'll resist the temptation to take the easy road and, instead, do what Supernatural does best. Challenge us. Surprise us. Make us laugh and make us cry. Most of all, make us FEEL. Now let's see how they get out of the attack of the zombie hoard in the cemetery.

Sigh; Jack's out of control. He has no way to know who is using him and who cares about him and he's more dangerous than any being Sam and Dean have ever faced. The title suggests a Biblical choice (to kill your own child...unless God swoops in to stop it) and since Sam and Dean have called Jack their "son", and we see Dean pointing a gun at a kneeling Jack in the preview (if previews can be believed; and they often cannot), I'm guessing that's how it will go. But I hope not. I love Jack, and was rather miffed that Dean was so calculating towards him last week.
Now that we know that, after this season 14 finale, the next season finale will also be the series finale, every single episode seems incredibly important. After this one, we only get 20 more new Supernaturals...ever. It makes me sad, but I know it can't last forever. I'll try my hardest to enjoy every new episode we get in season 15 as well as this season's finale. This season, things look a bit dark though. Is Nick totally dead? Does that mean Lucifer can't come back from the Empty if Nick is not inviting him back? Is there some after-effect of Dean's Michael possession? Can Jack get any of his soul back or can he learn to have morals without a soul? He's a loose nuke right now. Sam and Dean grieved Mary's death separately, which was painful to watch. I thought the end of this season would be all about doing in Michael...but that's already (we think) been done. So I guess it's Jack now. I don't want to lose Jack to death OR evil.

Now that we know the show will end around this time next year (sniff!), every episode feels more important to me. We'll only have 22 new episodes of Supernatural including this week's Jack in the Box. That title's super-ominous! I knew that Ma'lak box would resurface and I have to think it's here. And they still have to deal with Mary's death. And; oh joy (sarcastic) this is a Brad and Eugenie episode. Fingers crossed it WON'T be a cast of thousands and they will actually focus on the main leads (don't they kind of have to if it's the second-to-last episode of the season?). I AM looking forward to this week. From the promo pics, it looks like def-con 10 at the bunker when the red lights come on. I wonder what the crisis will be?

Very little info. was put out for this episode; only that Sam and Dean are quite concerned about Jack's soul. The previews show that Lucifer is alive...I don't know what Jack did to Mary. Rowena also makes an appearance.

This episode will have many characters...Jack, Donatello, Anael, and, maybe, Nick (ex Lucifer)?. Also Mary. The promo photos make it looks sweet; like an actual family game night at the bunker...but Jack's not entirely "right" right now...I don't see it ending sweet (one photo has Sam on the ground with Dean over him). I'm still unsure as to where this season is heading (though I have some theories) now that Michael has, seemingly, been "resolved" by Jack.

Last week's episode seemed like a bit of an outlier, but we learned that Sam feels like a failed leader after the death, at Michael's hands, of the AU hunters...and we learned that Jack is very very powerful and may not always use his powers like he should (even when he thinks he's doing the right thing). So far, he still has good intentions, but it's upsetting that he's not sure how he feels...he may not have much soul in there.
This week, the teens from the town of Lebanon who were in the 300th episode return. It looks like Jack tries to befriend them. What could go wrong? And judging from the promo photos, Sam and Dean DO go into the woods.
