  • Besides Lucifer, what are the other four things the Colt can't kill?
  • Is Mary being honest with Sam about her motivations for joining the British Men of Letters (BMOLs)?
  • Would Sam truly go back to school and have a normal life if he could?
  • Sam arrived at the BMOLs' base in a fairly nice, late model car. Has he finally stopped stealing ugly cars, or is this car already part of the motor pool at the Bunker?
  • Now that "Project V" has obvious flaws, what will the BMOLs do about it?
  • Who are the "Old Lads" Mick and Mr. Ketch were taking about? They are the ones truly giving the orders for the BMOLs.
  • Was Mr. Ketch telling the truth about Dean being a killer and needing something to fight?
  • What punishment is in store for Pierce Moncrief? And will this be a foreshadowing of what awaits Mary and/or Sam if they ever disobey an order or betray the Brits?

  • Mary told Sam that she joined the BMOLs so she could help rid the world of monsters, and Sam and Dean could have the lives they can't have as hunters.
  • Mr. Ketch's sidearm of choice is a Sig Sauer, a military-style weapon.
  • Mr. Ketch believes that the BMOLs don't need Dean and Sam (because they have Mary), but the hierarchy still wants them because they believe the other American hunters will follow the Winchesters if they join.
  • The BMOLs have a plan, called "Plan V" for exterminating all vampires in America. They may have similar plans for dealing with other types of monsters.
  • Mr. Ketch told Dean that he knew Toni Bevel was psychologically unstable. Interestingly, in "Keep Calm and Carry On", Toni Bevel referred to him as a psychopath. Mr. Ketch also reluctantly admits that they used to date.

  • Pierce Moncrief is a hunter from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He calls himself "The Hunter King of Baton Rouge". He and Rufus Turner apparently worked a job together in the Atchafalaya Basin region, which is a swamp/wetlands area in central Louisiana.
  • As well-oiled as the BMOLs are supposed to be, they had a security monitor that nobody was monitoring. That's pretty sloppy of them.
  • The vampires were staying at an abandoned hotel called the "Morest Hotel" in Wichita, Kansas.
  • It would have taken Dean and Mr. Ketch approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours to drive from the bunker to Wichita, Kansas.
  • When Dean and Mr. Ketch arrive at the Morest Hotel in Wichita, Mr. Ketch says that they have about an hour of daylight left. When we see the vampires raid the BMOL's compound, it is already dark. We don't know how long it took Dean and Mr. Ketch to search the hotel, find the female vampire, and learn that the other vamps were already gone; but unless the vamps traveled during daylight, the BMOL's temporary base must be relatively close to Wichita; we are never told exactly where it is.
  • Once again, the BMOLs' intelligence was wrong. They thought the Alpha Vamp was in Morocco, but he was in Hoople, North Dakota during season 7 ("There Will Be Blood") which was about 5 years ago, according to Sam.
  • Presumably "AVD" stands for anti-vampire device?
  • Sam knew the recipe for making bullets for the Colt -- holy oil, sage, myrrh, and an incantation. He got the recipe from Bobby Singer, who got it from Ruby in season 3.
  • The slow motion head shot when Sam uses the Colt to kill the Alpha Vamp is reminiscent of the scene when Dean kills Azazel in season 2 (All Hell Breaks Loose, part 2).
  • The scene when Mr. Ketch tempts Dean with scotch to gain access to the bunker, and then has an "uncomfortable" conversation with him is reminiscent of the scene in season 3 ("Time Is On My Side") when Dean uses a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue to encourage Rufus Turner to allow him inside his home to talk to him.

  • Sam mentions the BMOLs' "Mission Impossible" vibe. Mission Impossible was a popular 1960s-1970s era television series about an elite group of spies who were tasked with seemingly impossible missions. They tended to use very sophisticated equipment and weapons. There is also a popular "Mission Impossible" movie franchise that employs many elements of the original television series.
  • When Dean arrives at the bunker and Sam doesn't seem to be there, Dean starts to call out "Luci, I'm home." This references a well-known line from the 1950s-era television series "I Love Lucy".
  • There are several very expensive "barrel proof" whiskeys available, but the brand Mr. Ketch has -- Glennlach -- appears to be fictional. Barrel-proof scotch or whiskey is allowed to remain at the strength at which it was aged in the barrel; it is filtered to remove debris and contaminants, but it is not diluted with water. This process can produce a beverage with a very high alcohol content.
  • Mick Davies says something to Sam about charging in "John Wayne" style. This refers to the American actor John Wayne, known for playing very tough characters -- often in Westerns or war movies.
  • Alpha Vamp tells the BMOLs to "Get off my lawn". This line is from the 2008 Clint Eastwood movie "Grand Torino".
