Every now and then, the Supernatural Fan Wiki holds a contest to give members like you a chances to show their love of Supernatural, have fun doing it, and of course get a chance to win great Supernatural related prizes! For this year, coming into TEN seasons of Supernatural, we're hosting more contests over the summer Hellatus of 2014...


TYPE OF CONTEST

The contest is typically decided by the creator, DeansGirl666; however this summer, the Mods - Spnfanforever and Journalbookbinder - have got together and organised the contests for you! However we also take contest suggestions into consideration: if a member on the wiki wishes to host a contest, they may suggest a contest to go with their prize(s) so if there is a contest you would like to have on here, please mention it in the "Contest Suggestions" thread below.

PRIZES
As of 2011, prizes are typically chosen and purchased by wiki creator, DeansGirl666. They are always Supernatural related.Three prizes are generally given out at the close of each contest. However, there will be some contests in which only one or two prizes are given out. This could be for a couple of reasons:A) The contest only calls for one or two prizes.B) There are not enough entries to call for more than one or two prizes.C) Cost of prizes is not feasible at the time of the contest. Prizes are purchased out of pocket and are not generally cheap, especially when you add in the cost of shipping worldwide. However, we love doing contests and love giving people a chance to win some prizes, so even if we can only offer one prize, we will do our best to get a prize out.Prizes can be donated, should a member want to host a contest. However, the Supernatural Fan Wiki, nor its creator, DeansGirl666, is responsible for any problems with or receiving of the prizes.FINDING THE WINNER The means of finding the winner is determined by the type of contest. Contests such as our annual banner contests are done by most community votes, in which a poll is put up with the entries and members of the wiki can vote for their favorite. Generally, for our writing contests, we will recruit people from outside the wiki to act as judges. This allows all members (as well as giving our mod squad) a chance to participate without any conflicts of interest.

This summer - 2014 - things are a little different. We have not one but THREE contests, each of which will have a winner and a runners-up prize and we will require valid email addresses from all contestants to mail prizes, as well as postal addresses for some first place prizes.

PREVIOUS WINNERS

Beginning in 2013 we have set a new rule which states that first place contest winners are not eligible to re-enter next year's contest of the same type. For example, if you won a first place in last year's fan fiction contest, you would not be allowed to enter this year's fan fiction contest. If you won the banner contest last year, you would not be able to enter this year's banner contest. This gives others a fair chance at winning a prize every year but does not dismiss you from ever participating again in future contests. Second and third place winners can re-enter for a chance to win first place.

So, it's very obvious that there has been quite the decline in contests over the years and I truly apologize, but unfortunately our economy is not very nice to us..

However, I am pleased to announce that we will be bringing back our contests for the end of the year and hopefully in years to follow! And of course well have some more cool supernatural prizes to give away!

To kick off the start of a new season, I wanted to make this thread to ask you, the fans and our amazing members, what kind of contest YOU would like to do! So, if your interested, reply to this thread with your ideas and it may be chosen! You can suggest any number of ideas =)
