  • -26/8/09 - You’ll be thrilled to hear that Sam and Dean’s inability to maintain meaningful long-term relationships with the opposite sex will continue throughout season 5. “We’ve returned to a conceit that works for us and that the fans seem to be able to swallow without vomiting, which is that there’s a girl in every port,” says series creator Eric Kripke. “We certainly have a lot of guest-star female love interests that the boys help save and interact with. But at the moment, there are no plans for a longstanding romantic relationship.”

  • -6/8/09 - Jim Beaver told us to expect a huge Bobby-related twist early in Supernatural's fifth season. He says, "There's something pretty big that happens with Bobby in the first episodes. Really big. It's going to have a huge impact on his relationship with the boys—but I don't know what that impact is, because I've only seen the first three scripts."

  • 15/9/09 - According to series creator Eric Kripke, this season is all about “building Sam and Dean back up in a way that makes them older, sadder, wiser, and, ultimately, stronger. It’s funny, we’ve been feeling in many ways that this is the most optimistic season of Supernatural we’ve ever done. Because even though the exterior circumstances are a massive cluster f–k, internally, the boys aren’t tearing each other apart every episode. It’s more like, ‘Hey, maybe we’ll lose, but, dammit, let’s go down swinging.’”

  • Genevieve (Cortese - Ruby) will not be back on Supernatural.

  • 21/8/09 - "I don’t think I’ll ever give up the back story of how that knife got its powers." - Eric Kripke
"....the Colt pistol is in episode 10. And it also pops up a little bit earlier as well. The Colt emerges as the boys’ best strategy to shooting the devil in the face.” - Eric Kripke
“I would love to have him (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) back,” says Kripke. “But he is an in-demand actor. It’s all about scheduling.

  • 28/7/09 - This year will be the most optimistic season of the show ever. After spending the majority of last season tearing the Winchester family apart, this season will bring them back together.
Eric Kripke: "We'll be doing a story on Celebrity Ghosts, including a homicidal Abe Lincoln."
Rufus will return to Supernatural and they are trying to bring back as many hunters as possible this season.
Ellen and Jo Harvelle are coming back to Supernatural in season five.

  • 21/7/09 - The prophet Chuck is definitely back on SPN in season five. Our sources say he doesn't prophesize anything specific, but he does help out Sam and Dean. Also popping by this season will be one of Nathaniel's buddies, the archangel Raphael. According to Wikipedia, Raphael's specialty is healing. Wonder if he can help poor Sammeh with his season-launching nervous breakdown?

  • 7/7/09 - We're told Lucifer will be entirely [Mark] Pellegrino-shaped and that he'll recur throughout Supernatural season five. We're also hearing that Castiel has a major individual arc that coincides with the major arc for the season, and that's all we can share for now, but it sounds juicy, don't you think?

  • 4/7/09 - For those who’ve been wondering what happened to Meg, the sassy demon with a huge grudge against Supernatural’s Winchester brothers, she’s back! Rachel Miner is playing the character, last seen in Season 2.

  • 30/6/09 - Mark Pellegrino's career is on fire. Literally. Sources confirm to me exclusively that the actor -- who was unmasked as Lost's enigmatic Jacob at the end of last season -- is joining the cast of Supernatural as none other than the Prince of Darkness himself, Lucifer.

    • 16/6/09 - Sources assure us that angel Anna will reappear on Supernatural next season. Here's hoping Dean has better luck with her than Sam had with Ruby.

    Episode 504: The End
22/9/09 - Sources tell us that Sam does have fairly limited screentime in episode four, "The End," airing Oct. 1, but he's not just being excluded because Dean's cooler or something. It's to a purpose. Specifically, sources say that Sam makes an appearance about 10 minutes before the end of the episode, and that his absence from the rest of the hour will "make sense when you see it." So don't call it a cameo, and more importantly, don't panic! Trust the writers—they have a plan.

Look for the word seriously a lot and lots of atmospheric emo soundtrack music. You will have many opportunities to die laughing, including when Dean explains dead Denny to Sam, and Sam asks, "This show has ghosts? Why?!" (Fans of both shows, of course, will giggle about Jeffrey Dean Morgan being both dead Denny and Sam and Dean's dead dad, John. The guy gets around.)

15/10/09 - - When Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) find themselves living their lives on what appear to be TV shows, it makes for a whole new style of reality television and they wonder if the Trickster (guest star Richard Speight, Jr.) is to blame. But is the Trickster really the mastermind behind the madness? Also starring Misha Collins as ‘Castiel.’ 'Changing Channels' was written by Jeremy Carver and directed by Charles Beeson.

    CHUCK: Sam.
    SAM: Yeah!
    DEAN: Hey, Chuck.
    CHUCK: So...you're okay?
    SAM: Well, my head hurts.
CHUCK: No, I mean -- I mean, my -- My last vision. You went, like, full-on Vader. Your body temperature was 150. Your heart rate was 200. Your eyes were black.
    DEAN: Your eyes went black?
    SAM: I didn't know.
    DEAN: Where's Cass?
CHUCK: He's dead. Or gone. The archangel smote the crap out of him. I'm sorry.
DEAN: You're sure? I mean, maybe he just vanished into the light or something.
CHUCK: Oh, no. He, like, exploded. Like a water balloon of chunky soup.
SAM: (points to Chuck's hair): You got a...
    CHUCK: Uh...right here?
CHUCK: Uh, the.. Oh. Oh, god. Is that a molar? Do I have a molar in my hair? This has been a really stressful day.
    DEAN: Cass, you stupid bastard.
SAM: Stupid? He was trying to help us.
    DEAN: Yeah, exactly.
    SAM: So, what now?
    DEAN: I don't know.
    SAM: What?
    CHUCK: I can feel them.
ZACHARIAH: thought we'd find you here. Playtime's over, Dean. Time to come with us.
DEAN: You just keep your distance, ass-Hat.
    ZACHARIAH: You're upset.
DEAN: Yeah -- A little. You sons of ******* jump-started judgment day!
ZACHARIAH: Maybe we let it happen. We didn't start anything. Right, Sammy?
You had a chance to stop your brother, and you couldn't. So let's not quibble over who started what. Let's just say it was all our faults and move on. 'Cause like it or not... it's apocalypse now. And we're back on the same team again.
    DEAN: Is that so?
ZACHARIAH: You want to kill the devil. We want you to kill the devil. It's...synergy.
DEAN: And I'm just supposed to trust you? Cram it with walnuts, ugly.
ZACHARIAH: This isn't a game, son. Lucifer is powerful in ways that defy description. We need to strike now, hard and fast -- Before he finds his vessel.
DEAN: His vessel? Lucifer needs a meat suit?
ZACHARIAH: He is an angel. Them's the rules. And when he touches down, we're talking four horsemen, red oceans, fiery skies -- The greatest hits. You can stop him, Dean but you need our help.
DEAN: You listen to me, you two-Faced douche -- After what you did, I don't want jack squat from you!
ZACHARIAH: You listen to me, boy! You think you can rebel against us ?As Lucifer did? You're bleeding
DEAN: Oh, yeah - A little insurance policy in case you dicks showed up.
( Dean slaps his bloody hand on an Angel Banishing Sigil drawn behind a door. )
    ZACHARIAH: No!
DEAN: Learned that from my friend Cass, you son of a *****.
    CHUCK: This sucks ass!
