  • Where will Lucifer go now, and how will Team Free Will stop him?
  • When an angel possesses a vessel, he downloads the person's memories. If so, why didn't Lucifer know how to play guitar?
  • Lucifer wants to be worshiped by humanity, but he also wants to destroy Chuck's creation (which includes humanity); which will he choose?
  • Castiel blames himself for freeing Lucifer, but was he truly willing to die just to slow him down for a few minutes?

  • A fossilized feather from one of Lucifer's wings was apparently excavated from one of Lucifer's crypts; Lucifer was able to use the feather to restore his damaged vessel
  • Despite the fact that Dean seemed angry about Mary's leaving, they have been keeping in touch via text (as we saw in "American Nightmare"), and in this episode we see that they have been playing Scrabble online
  • Although Castiel is unhappy spending so much time with Crowley, they are still working together to find and defeat Lucifer
  • Crowley considers Los Angeles "his town" -- presumably because he has made many demon deals there, and there are many people who are easily corrupted
  • Although Lucifer doesn't seem to have a plan, his ultimate desire is to be worshiped and adored, not necessarily to rule heaven, hell, or Earth; he also seems to want to destroy creation
  • Lucifer feels that Chuck has abandoned him again and only said what Lucifer wanted to hear because Chuck needed his help with Amara
  • Dean feels that they achieved a small victory in LA because they stopped Lucifer from killing a lot of people; but Sam thinks that they lost because Lucifer is still free. Sam also feels very responsible for Lucifer being free, although he says it's their collective problem

  • Mary Winchester's username in her online scrabble game with Dean is "mothermary1983", likely referring to the year she died. Dean's username is "67impala327"
  • The name of Vince Vincente's band is Ladyheart
  • "Death Siren Studios" was the recording company that offered Vince Vincente and Ladyheart a recording deal
  • Jensen's rant about Los Angeles was largely improvised
  • Dean says that he and Sam worked a vengeful spirit job in Los Angeles 10 years ago.
  • The "Bellaqua Hotel" is the name of the luxury hotel where Vince Vincente is staying. There is a chain of spas by that name, but the hotel appears to be fictional
  • Jensen plays guitar (and sings) very well in real life, although this is rarely referenced in the show. In his alternate reality life ("What is and What Shall Never Be") we see a guitar in a stand in the corner of his apartment, suggesting that he plays; and in "Bad Boys" young Dean was taking guitar lessons and developed a relationship with his teenaged guitar teacher
  • "Club Meteor" is the name of the club where Ladyheart had planned to have their concert
  • "Bloody Messiah" was written by Supernatural's own Jay Gruska and Robert Berens
  • Apparently, Enochian-warded handcuffs don't work on Lucifer.
  • Based on what Lucifer did to Roseleen, he was going to make the audience members kill themselves (or perhaps each other) just to show their devotion to him.

  • There are several satanist societies in the United States, but the "Satanist Society of America" seems to be fictional
  • "Snapchat" is a social media application that allows users to share videos, photos and messages; Dean feels this would be too complicated for Mary to use right now
  • There are several websites that host online Scrabble games
  • Crowley implied that the rapper Drake and Taylor Swift gained their celebrity through demon deals with him
  • "Hootie and the Blowfish" was a popular 1980s-1990s era rock band
  • The Protestant reformation was a 16th century religious and social restructuring that occurred in Europe and initiated a major division between Roman Catholics and other Christian faiths
  • Pamela Anderson is a former centerfold model who became a popular actress in the 1990s
  • "Kimye" refers to celebrities Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
  • Justin Beiber is a popular recording artist; Crowley implied that humanity chooses to worship celebrities like Justin Beiber and Kim Kardashian instead of seeking a truly higher power
  • Roseleen says she's from Arcadia. Arcadia is a city in Los Angeles County, CA. it's not far from Los Angeles.
  • When Dean and Sam are trying to convince Lucifer's publicist to talk to them, they pretend to be performers. Dean says they's like "Oasis", but American. Oasis was a British rock band that was popular in the 1990s.
  • Lucifer taunts Castiel, asking if he's brought the rest of "The Little Rascals" with him. Then he refers to Crowley as "Spanky". The Little Rascals was a 1920's era series of short films about a group of children and the mischief they got into. Spanky Mcarlane was one of the main cast members.
