  • Does Mary really think she knows everything Dean and Sam went through to find her and bring her back?
  • How did Lucifer know that the rift would remain open for exactly 31 hours?
  • Is Gabriel really dead? We saw his angel wings silhouetted on the ground when he died the last time, but that was a trick
  • Now that Bobby and his rebels are in our world, will they find a way to defeat Michael before he and Lucifer figure a way to get here?
  • Will Lucifer and Michael figure a way to open a rift and get here? And if they do, will they both keep their part of the bargain?
  • Lucifer had some time to talk to Jack and begin convincing his son that he's misunderstood. Was Mary right -- that Jack will make the right decisions? Or was Dean right about Jack going dark side?

  • Lucifer still believes that he's been the scapegoat for humanity's evils and failures. He wants to convince everyone that he can change his ways
  • Castiel in our world (and Castiel in the AU), knows a torture procedure that rips information from someone's mind and allows the angel to access the information. Unfortunately, the procedure is very painful, and when it's over, the person's mind no longer exists. Can other angels also torture people in this way?
  • According to Gabriel, humanity was innocent until Lucifer corrupted us. Chuck locked Lucifer away to try to stop his "cancer" from spreading, but it was already too late

  • Exodus is the second book of the Old Testament in the Judeo-Christian bible, and tells the story of how God intervened to free enslaved people from their captors and led them to a land of freedom
  • When Lucifer is demanding respect, he spells out the word "R-E-S-P-E-C-T". This may be an allusion to the 1967 song "Respect", by Aretha Franklin
  • Lucifer calls humanity's impression of him "fake news", a reference to Donald Trump, who often refers to negative stories about him as fake news
  • Lucifer says his father locked him away instead of giving him a "time out". Time outs have become a progressive way to chastise children without using corporal punishment; the process involved encouraging the child to sit quietly for several minutes and reflect on their misdeeds
  • Lucifer tells Gabriel that he drank "the Kool-Aid". This refers to the 1978 cult mass suicide involving followers of the Reverend Jim Jones, in which parishionerswere ordered to drink Kool-Aid that was laced with cyanide
  • When Lucifer is trying to tell Jack how powerful and important his family is, he compares his family to three powerful families -- the Tudors, the Trumps, and the Jacksons. The Tudor royal family ruled England from 1485 to 1603; the Trumps are an American family that gained wealth through real estate investment, reality television, and politics; and the Jacksons are known for having several musically-talented members, including Michael and Janet Jackson
  • Dean called Lucifer "Helter Skelter", referring to the diabolical plan attempted by Charles Manson and his followers to start a race war that would destroy the United States, allowing Manson to rise to power amidst the chaos
  • Dean and Mary talk about Jack going to the "dark side". This is a reference to the "dark side of the force" from the Star Wars film franchise. In the films, the force is a universal type of energy; individuals may tap into the "dark side" of the force to use its power, but making that choice corrupts the individual and usually turns him/her toward evil
  • When Ketch is being tortured, he mentions Boardwalk, Park Place, Oriental Avenue, and the B&O railroad; these venues are all part of the board game Monopoly
