  • Gabriel to Dean, Sam, Rowena, and Castiel (about his minuscule.sample of archangel grace): "That is the jet fuel of divine emissions. It'll be more than enough to get the job done."
  • Rowena to Gabriel: "A drunk six year old could execute that magic. It wasn't the spell or the caster. It was the ingredient."
  • Lucifer to Dean, Sam, Rowena, and Castiel: "Ah, look at this. All the people I love to torture in the same room. What's the occasion, guys?"

  • Did you know that Castiel can tell where he is geographically -- even in the alternate universe (AU)?
  • Will Gabriel take Castiel's advice and begin taking more of a leadership role in heaven? If Gabriel refuses, will heaven remain open?
  • Castiel alluded to multitudes of angels in the AU. If Gabriel can't or won't return to heaven to save it, might they?
  • If vampires became wild and ravenous from starvation following Michael's destruction of their food source (i.e. humanity), what has become of other monsters in the AU (e.g. ghouls and rugarus) that rely on humans for food?
  • What will happen now that Lucifer has finally found Jack? Will he sway Jack to the dark side? Will Jack perhaps sway his father to the good side?
  • Will Sam keep his deal with Lucifer and help him foster a relationship with Jack? What will be the consequences for Sam if he doesn't keep his word?

  • The potion Rowena used to drug Lucifer contained white sage, burdock, and salt. All of these ingredients are traditionally believed to have purifying properties
  • Mary and Jack have established a rebel outpost in Dayton, Ohio
  • Although Gabriel may be the only archangel who can save heaven, he feels like a screwup and doesn't believe he can help. He also doesn't believe the angels want him to
  • When Michael and his angels began exterminating humanity in the AU, they eliminated the food source for vampires. Years of starvation have turned the AU vampires into ravenous, unthinking creatures

  • It's not clear exactly where in northeastern Kentucky the Winchesters, Castiel and Gabriel landed; but the Morehead tunnel is approximately 150 miles from Dayton, Ohio. Assuming the group had access to main roads, it would have taken them about 50 hours to walk that distance. We don't know how long they walked before they arrived at the tunnel
  • When Lucifer's verbal taunting didn't upset Rowena enough, he began singing loudly and consistently -- presumably for hours without stopping. When Sam was hallucinating Lucifer's presence in season 7, the devil used a very similar torture technique (as well as other mental tortures) on Sam. Eventually, by "The Bore Again Identity" Lucifer had kept Sam up for so many days in a row that Sam was near death

  • During Sam's dream, Jack notes how many slices of pizza Dean has eaten and Dean retorts "Don't be a narc." A narc is a slang term derived from "narcotics officer"; it refers to someone who reports another person's wrongdoing to the authorities, but also refers in general to anyone who is considered a snitch
  • Rowena accuses Lucifer of "Neanderthal misogyny" when he taunts her by telling her that the Winchesters have left her behind because she's a woman. Neanderthals lived approximately 40,000 years ago and are thought to be the closest hominid relative to humans. The Neanderthals were intelligent enough to use fire and tools, but calling someone a Neanderthal is meant to berate the person as stupid, unsophisticated, and primitive. Rowena was insulting Lucifer's primitive and arguably unintelligent attempt to distract her from her purpose
  • When Lucifer resurrects Sam, he calls it his "Lazarus trick". This refers to Lazarus of Bethany in the New Testament of the Christian bible. Lazarus was resurrected by Jesus after having been dead for several days. Supernatural's season 4 premiere episode, "Lazarus Rising", deals with the events surrounding Dean's resurrection and is also a reference to this biblical account
  • Rowena refers to Dean, Sam, and Castiel as the "Three Amigos". "Amigo" means friend in Spanish, but Rowena was likely joking about the 1986 comedy film "Three Amigos" that starred Martin Short, Chevy Chase, and Steve Martin
  • The Morehead tunnel (located in Morehead, Kentucky) is also called the Nada tunnel. It was built in the early 1900s as a logging railroad and today is considered an historical landmark
  • Lucifer jokes about wanting to watch episode of "Drag Race" referring to the reality competitiontelevision show "Ru Paul's Drag Race" (2009 - present)

Sympathy For The Devil - Supernatural Wiki

  • "Cat's in the Cradle" -- by Harry Chapin (plays in the bar when Lucifer is drinking and Gabriel confronts him)
  • "Camptown Races" -- by Stephen Foster (Lucifer sings the song repeatedly when he's tormenting Rowena)
